When a story is built with shapes and depth, FR

L’association Les Cafés Littéraires de Montélimar, 2025.

Together with Jannice Guilloux, we designed two creative workshops to explore visual storytelling in a unique way. Inspired by the universes of contemporary illustrators, these workshops invite participants to create stories without words.

Workshop 1: Stories of shapes
This workshop is inspired by the refined and sensitive work of Margaux Othats. Participants use stencils of simple shapes to create an accordion book, telling a poetic story where imagination is expressed through colors, rhythm, and arrangement.

Workshop 2: Telling an adventure with depth
This workshop, on the other hand, delves into the world of François Soutif. Children create a paper tunnel book, superimposing layers to bring a story to life. Each level of the tunnel represents a stage of the adventure, transforming the book into a veritable little three-dimensional theater scene.

These workshops are designed to stimulate creativity and fine motor skills, all while discovering the expressive power of shapes, colors, and volumes in visual narration.
